Hi guys,

My girlfriend has a Honda bike that has a few problems.

I'd like to know if you guys know of any forums (specifically aimed at Honda bikes) where I can post the problems for some comments and ideas and thoughts on how to fix these problems BEFORE she takes it to a mechanic... as we all know mechanics are not (generally) the most honest bunch around.

She's also not very knowledgeable when it comes to her bike, so discussing the problems and such will also maybe 'teach' her more about the bike and the problems.

With that said;

If there are any clever Honda guys here who are keen to help, please let me know.

Ultimately, I'm just wanting to save her money and also get her to learn more about her bike.

She has a Honda CBR 400 nc29 (calls it her training wheels - lol!)

Pretty nifty little bikes those CBR400's.... the NC29 is the best looking one from the bunch.

What kind of problems is she experiencing ?

Those little rice rockets are pretty much almost indestructable. Only issues I can imagine you will have with those little bikes, are the famous weak honda rectifiers affecting your battery charging. Dirty corroded carbs + pitted fork seals / slides from standing at the harbour in their containers while being shipped to their destination countries are also quite common.

Neva!! NC35 FTW!

for a 400 it really hauls a$$ and sounds damn good!

I know the RVF 400 all too well... Owned one as well ( and the NC30 with bigger carbs :-p )
But the little V4 wont keep up with the inline four on a straight line / top-end.

The RVF is more of a engineering masterpiece ... Its beauty lies in its handling and weight distribution.

Yah it is a beaut! fantastic handling and styling, the mono swing arm & way the exhaust raps round tucked under the fairing.... very nice. I used to have a Suzuki RF400R (lovely tourer) but somebody decided to affirmative shop it from me (over a 6 foot wall)...

Just google what you looking for, there is tons of info on that bike out there.

I also had a NC35 back in the day, I still regret ever selling it. Would have been great to pass down to the kids one day.
