Hi

Our computer company will be looking for a provider who can give us hosted exchange for some of our clients. What I would like is for either the providers to respond themselves or for the people who are using hosted exchange services to give me there ideas. I would like it to be a local provider as this just makes it easier for support, must have great support and assist with the migration and setup. Most of our clients are small businesses with +- 10 to 50 users. Please give me your recommendations and people to keep away from as well.

Thanks

Hi DrJohn

Was also thinking of this option. Where is this hosted is it local or international and what is the costs. Do you use it? If so how do you rate it?

MWeb does Hosted Exchange, and there is MS too. MWeb's is local, MS's is in Europe, I think.

I dropped you an PM in regard with two local entities with their own hosted exchange environment.

Go with Office 365, there's plenty of companies locally that will do the support and migrations

My recommendation is to rather cut off your own foot with a dull spoon then go with a hosted exchange

Worst 2 years of my life trying to manage the managed solution ...

But, maybe it works for others, we have gone over to Google Apps, and I smiled and smiled and smiled ...

[Start the flame war, I don't mind: but seriously, my personal recommendation when going to a hosted exchange solution is: don't.]

Nothing wrong with Google Apps, we utilise it in three companies, however MS is putting attention to collaboration applications more and more. The hosted versions are dying, learned about new developments at MS which happened last week, some here will smile, but this is only open to MS partners at this stage, basically this have to do with Azure being made open…

On another note in regard with MS hosted solutions are the reseller programs as MS is drawing the customers to 365 and it is well known to very much integrated partners that MS will cut the partners taking the customers, there was also a released article on MSP Mentor entailing this.

Do note that Google Apps are not yet within PoPI compliancy.
