We sell this as a solution of our own and we have resellers on our platform too selling this.

At the top of the tree we have the licensed IECNS carriers that have built networks and have direct interconnects with the tier 1's Telkom, Neotel, Voda , MTN , Cell C ect. Next down we have the licensed guys who run their own 'Class 5' switches ( SIP & hosted PBX platform) but do not have their own interconnects but transit their voice through one or more of the big IECNS carriers. Below this is the white labeled partners who are basically resellers.
Being fair to all there are pros and cons to at which level you choose to engage and it is in a way its specific to your business.

My real advice is this , do not sign long contracts with anybody , if they are confident of their service they will let you go month to month and be clear on this , if you port a number to any provider you are stuck with them for 2 months ! This is an ICASA rule not the providers.

Given more information of where you are and requirement i will gladly push you in the right direction .

Thanks Paul, this is so informative. What about your groups of numbers , who issues these to you ?

So I am guessing, we can't have much of these guys that have interconnects agreements themselves as the market seems small, and I am guessing that there is huge cost implications.

Thanks.

The site www.whichvoip.co.za has some but not all of the providers but it will show you the license status of providers listed.

Thanks.

I think you would be surprised at how many IECNS holders are out there and then many Class ECNS hodders for smaller operators . With regard to numbers these are issued in blocks from ICASA Geographic can be ported 087 cannot.

https://www.porting.co.za/PublicWebsite/ will show you who owns the number .
