Hi guys, i've been lerking around for a while but have been hosting as a hobby for a while. I'm now going more public and am interested to see which of these two packages would you guys go for:
  • Unlimited Domains
  • Unlimited Databases
  • Unlimited Mailboxes
  • 1024 MB Storage
  • Unlimited Bandwidth
  • Free CO.ZA Domain
for R65

OR
  • 1 Parked Domain
  • 20 MySQL Databases
  • 150 Mailboxes
  • 350 MB Storage
  • Unlimited Bandwidth
  • Front Page Extensions
for R35

The more expensive one have more space and a free domain but is more expensive monthly. The cheaper one doesn't have as much freedom but isn't bank breaking.

So which one is more appealing? (And Why :))

Well there is plenty of competition, so good luck to you. I do hosting as well, but mainly as an add on service to my other services. E.G. the customer is free to host somewhere else as well I don't force them to use my hosting services, but most of them like a one stop shop, if you only want to target hosting, you probably target your more knowledgable customers who will search for the best deal which is overseas.

And I can tell you there are plenty of places overseas which offer better value as what you can or want to offer.

I think in the end service is going to be the differentiater which will get and keep you customers

Great post ;) I decided to offer hosting as an add on service for my Web Design services, which many web designers won't dream of doing as it creates more effort and general stuff ups with clients. I don't do hosting as a main business venture, but if it moves in that direction then so be it.

Best to have a niche in my opinion ;)

Thanks guys. I am working hard to get the sense of quality service out to the people. Teraside, i'm afraid i can't agree with you about the idea of web designers doing their own hosting. Most designers i have spoken yo have a reseller plan and take care of their customers hosting needs with an all inclusive hosting package.

I Agree though that service is more important than price, and no matter how much one advertises or promotes in most cases a bad reputation runs before a name. That said i wish a good reputation ran before a name as well...

Oh thanks guys, and if any one is interested in a customised hosting package you can PM me for a discount or 'special package'.

Well bro, I've got a reseller plan with inclusive hosting, it seems you are assuming a few things about me  anyways, all the best ;)

Haha sorry i dont mean it in any bad way but they dont want to use my hosting services "as we already have a reseller plan"... Would you like a reseller plan from me? I can provide you with great service and support :p
