So, I think it's finally time to move away from Afrihost. The constant downtime is really starting to affect us negatively.

Any suggestions or advice for good hosting providers in South Africa?

Afrihost is useless. Four days now with no emails! For any business that is critical. All they can say is they are working on it.

Do you need local for data sovereignty or speed?

I've found OVH to do everything our company needed and the bandwidth. costs and servers come to 1/5th what we would pay in South Africa. The only downside is latency can be a bit high if you need something with low local latency, and data sovereignty might come into question depending what it is you're doing.

Afrihost’s deal with Cool Ideas is structured the same way that Axxess structured the deal with Absolute Hosting and look how that has turned out.

Cool Ideas still operates as an independent company with no changes, the same applies to us at Absolute Hosting.

I assure you nothing changes.
