Hotspot geyser element sleeve

According to the webpage, it raises the hot water to the top so you don't need to wait for the whole Geyser to be heated. It is like a rubber sleeve that goes over the Geyser element.

It is a flexible glove-like device that is retrofitted over the geyser element resulting in the thermosiphon effect. The effect on your wallet is a 27% saving on electricity.
Sound like junk science.

The product is made out of food safe plastic material and is tested against chemical leaching and dry burn.
Don't think its a good idea to place a piece of plastic over your geyser element.

Then you have this. A laugh a minute. imo. Nowhere is there a picture of the actual product or install video or even testimonials. But hey the product is so great it won a host of awards.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND IT
There’s a lot of science behind what we do. Although gravity keeps us grounded, we would rather show you the all the awards we have as opposed to the complicated formulae that have filled up countless of our notebooks.

I found this article from 2020: https://www.news24.com/news24/bi-ar...et-africa-energy-saving-sandiswa-qayi-2020-11

It's not technically heating the water faster (that would be impossible) but it is claiming to siphon the hot water closer to outlet side making it so that the first water you use can be hotter quicker. This concept exists in other types of water heaters where there are two separate elements in different positions.

It could potentially help but there are probably factors where it would be less helpful. It's probably most effective when you have your geyser vertical and you don't drain all the hot water from the geyser in single sessions - you'll likely get a bit of shock if you use up all the heated water at the top during your shower and then suddenly get all the cold water come through.

I'm not talking from experience so free to be corrected by anyone who's using this.

This image from the above article doesn't make much sense though, I don't how they figure that it heats the water faster after their 2h mark. You're putting the exact same amount of energy into the water.

This thing is stocked by Leroy Merlin and Makro so not sure if that means something.

If the concept works, it will benefit as it will mean the water will be usable earlier especially with a slower 2kw element.
