What effect might the outcome of the election have on property prices?

Speaking to agents in our area, they mention that everybody is waiting on the outcome of the election before listing their properties. This is a DA controlled suburb in Tshwane that will remain DA after the election.

Are people hoping for a DA win in Gauteng or what could possibly be their reasoning?

They are speculating, there are people listing houses now, and there are people buying houses now.

Possible but what is the thinking ? What diffs will the results have on prices? What are they hoping for ?

EWC - then why wait? Are you hoping ANC loose national or waiting on announcement/confirmation?

If your intention is to sell why wait till after election to list?

Are you hoping DA takes GP and prices go up?
ANC wins national/Gauteng/Tshwane then you sell and get less/same as current

I think the election has zero to do with house pricing / market.

Agree. Just trying to figure out why people are delaying their listing

Probably more to do with their decision to stay or leave... They're eternal optimists hoping that the ANC will lose.

What I don't understand is that according to the agent they are definitely listing. So they already decided to sell but want to list after election
