How a R3k AMD CPU can keep up with a R8k Intel CPU :)

The funny thing about this thread is that while I'm following it, I'm doing so knowing that I'm getting a MSI 970 Gaming board in the next two weeks and I'll probably plop down cash for a FX-8320/FX-8350 on Carbonite.

I'd go for the FX-8320. These chips have quite decent overclocking headroom and the FX-8350 isn't worth the premium imho.

Don't drool too much though, I'm only going for the MSI thanks to ASUS' bungling of my warranty return for almost two months.

Anyway, either/or will do just fine for me. Even if I get a FX-6300, it's a damn sight faster and with more cores to throw at video editing than my Athlon X3.
