How ANCYL plans to shut down Cape

I'm with Mila and Devill here... If we were talking about the DA or IFP's youth league sending any of the ANC provincial governments memorandums stating they were going to make the province "ungovernable", an "intimidation" charge would only be there as an addendum to a treason charge. Of that, there is no doubt in my mind.

Sedition would be more correct -

In law, sedition is overt conduct, such as speech and organization, that is deemed by the legal authority to tend toward insurrection against the established order. Sedition often includes subversion of a constitution and incitement of discontent (or resistance) to lawful authority. Sedition may include any commotion, though not aimed at direct and open violence against the laws.

So province = nation then?

Is the Western Cape not part of RSA? Seriously ....?

According to Van Leeuwen (Cens. For. 5.2) treason can be committed
in._yarious ways - e.g. where one stirs up sedition or attempts to
destroy the fatherland or collects the people against the state.

Fatherland? How old is that reference you made? It's an attack on a province at best, not a nation. As Daveza mentioned this is a better example of sedition. I doubt the ANCYL's end goal of this is overthrowing the government of the country.

Nice sidestep.... Is the Western Cape part of the RSA? Yes or No.

If yes, then you are a wrong. If no you should ask for your school fees back.

So you recon Treason does not apply to the boeremag bunch since they would not have over thrown a nation.

I mean we can all say with certainty that it would have been a beeeeggg flop.

sorry wrong linkey. Will post it now. On My Cell. :)

Apologies, I elaborated. The WC is and should always be part of the RSA.

Nope, but sedition or treason aims to destabilise or overthrow government and, like it or not, the Western Cape's government is still a branch of National government. It's just that, IMO, a different set of rules apply to civil disobedience in the Wester Cape 'cos it's held by the DA.

Did you read the Boeremag's plans / goals? They were certainly planning on trying to overthrow the nation's government.

And the ANCYL not?

The ANC Youth League in the province claims the league president, Julius Malema, is being made a scapegoat and that the league will make the country ungovernable should disciplinary action be taken against him.

They have made the same threats.

Then if the ANCYL threaten with acts of terrorism against a province of the RSA is that not treason?

Well if it is treason, then blocking off the freeways and burning down gantries should also be seen as treason. You could probably muggle whatever event you like with the word treason.

Rules by who, the DA or National Government?

ANC led National Government... Back to my first post, if this was a statement by the IFP's youth league in ANC led KZN, would that be seditious or treasonous?
