Hi All.
A few days ago playing STOL my 'pc' which is not a year old yet, crashed in game for the first time since I have had it. I rebooted, it started and I started to look for reason's why the crash occurred, I noticed that my sound was gone. Okay check the speakers and cables, they all work, checked for updated drivers, uninstalled the audio driver and reinstalled. No sound at all. When I use a USB headset there is sound, but both front and back sound ports produce no sound even with other speakers. In utter frustration i reformatted the drive, re installed Win7/64 d/l all the updates etc.. and still nothing. Thing is i could send the pc back to the company who made it but i live on the KZN South Coast and they are in PTA it would cost a small fortune for me to courier it there unless it's a serious issue. Can anyone tell me if the motherboard sound chip has packed up or if the MB itself is perhaps faulty? I dont know where else to look.
The motherboard is a ASUS P8Z77-V Pro mother board. Any advice would be much appreciated.
