how can i fix my 3g connection?

sorry if this was asked already but my software i got with my 3G card won't always connect,the whole program is super delayed and stalls for easy2-3min then once that gets sorted out i takes another 2-3 min to connect,any help or any other program i can use instead of the original 3Gsoftware?
