How can I open a PowerPoint 2005 file?

I have a PowerPoint which was drafted in 2005, but when I try to open it, the error message is POWERPOINT CAN'T OPEN THIS TYPE OF FILE. I don't know if the file is not compatible with the Office 2013 I have now or if it is corrupted.

Can anyone help me find out how to open it?

You could try open office?
That would open your presentation.

You could also open it in Google slides which you can then download again as a ppt file.
