they call theirselves world class technology, but cant even help the basic needs of tele communication in the country,
For example:
my first line applied 3years ago, they say the area is new, next financial years will be done, but after all 3years later the same story is telling. witch world leading country will apply this kind of service.
after i moved, an old area, applied again..... now they telling me there is no port avaliable for me,
really world class technology hey?....:D

LMAO! Move to the USA is all I can say. And before haters hate, give me reason at least. =)

Yes they have a fiber cable connected to 2 computers in a test lab. That is the world class technology they are talking about.

It took me 1 year to get a line installed at my new place. They had to lay cables etc and I ended up having to pull through the last section to speed things up. Telkom are a joke.

ROFL u sure they have "a" fiber cable??? i thought they using their 4MB or 8MB line to host world cup

Uhm, 300 million people here and 90 million only watching the cup. I run on a 120mbps connection... need I say more? Of course not =)

Move to Norway! A fast connection and bears! what more do you need!? :P

1.5 gigabits is useless when all the porn is censored.

heh ;)
our American friend must be thinking all South African men are sex addicts and married with like six wives each. actually, on second thoughts; i dunno why i even had to mention anything about what speeds could be obtained in a country.
anyway i think the point i was trying to get across was everything comes down to cost, pay enough and Telkom wont have any problem providing over 100mbps. *thinks of metro Ethernet*
Just like 1.5gbps isn't the cheapest flavour, 120mbps in America isn't either.

as for why/how Telkom can get away with calling themselves world-class, well there's not really anyone else to look to with proper redundancy, is there? i'd love to know how VC and WA are pulling it off though.
