How can I delete unwanted channels on DSTV?

eg I have many I dont subscribe to - so when I scroll thru the channels- I have to go thru all the blank channels that just wast my time?

How can I set my remote to delete / or just have the ones I want.?

just don't delete M-Net we still wanna watch it please

Until Multichoice comes up with a decent set top box, I'm afraid you're stuck with them.

On the HD-PVR you can set-up favourite channels, so then only those you added as favourites show up.

But then that means having an HD-PVR and I'd rather slide down a giant cheese grater into a tank of vinegar.

On the normal decoders there is no funcitonality for this. As SM pointed out there are ways around it. I personally use a HTPC, so only the wanted channels show up in the list.

I use a Tivo, so I can choose which channels I want to see. I have it linked to my DSTV decoder, so I only use the Tivo remote.

How do you find it? I remember there was some Tivo buzz on this forum and in general some time ago but AFAIK it hasnt really caught on, I'd be interested to know what kind of experience it is in SA.

Check out tivoza.nanfo.com

You'll get lots of info there. It works great, records all my programs. Guide data is downloaded automatically over the internet.

How do you prevent conflicts when you watch something live? Or do you just record everything and only watch recordings?
