How difficult is your job?

Simple question.

I'm not necessarily trying to find out what qualifications you need to do your job. Just how your job is.
 
I studied law, but we have our own consulting business, focusing on change management and business process re-engineering.

So while I do use my qualifications for e.g. drafting contracts, MOUs, etc, 70% of the stuff I do now is not related to my educational background.

I had to learn how to handle the finances of a business, had to learn some key concepts of HR and had to learn how to shut up and dance to the client's music :D

We also have a lot of sideline projects, which taught me how to do business plans as well as a learning a lot on corporate governance.

Answer = Not too difficult. Have the luxury of learning a lot of new things.

On a scale of 1 to 10 re: difficulty, a resounding 1.
On a scale of 1 to 10 re: stress dealing with clients, 10.

Most of the time I'm bored out of my mind.

IIRC, section 78 of the LRA is to the effect of:

"ANY employee may discuss working conditions with other any other employee...."

Passive aggressive much? Where the heck does this come from? Inferiority complex acid? Do you prefer incorrect information because when other people are wrong it make YOU feel smarter?
 
stressful, working as analyst been
developing a new product for a client, i've had to change my specs for 5 times in the last 8 months.... if i'm stuck all I have is google and learning stuff on the fly. Supporting a system I had to document from from scratch, the previous development team packed up and left no documentation nothing . Such a crap system. this is my first job btw..
 
Difficulty is probably about an 8/10 but demmand is a 10/10. Required to work weekends where necessary, late nights, evenings from home.

I guess I chose the career so can't complain;)
 
Things have been pretty difficult lately. I usually love a challenge but I've been feeling particularly old and burned out lately.

And then you are required to sign other forms... like a non-disclosure agreement. No signature - no job!

There are some rights one cannot sign away even by mutual agreement. I am not a lawyer, but iirc there is even a provision in BCEA that states that BCEA rights cannot be signed away (save for in the case of a dismissal dispute). Just because a mutually agreed and signed contract says XYZ doesn't necessarily make XYZ lawfully legitimate.
