How do I cancel a Vodacom contract?

My contract has come to an end.Vodacom's deals suck and I would like to cancel and move to vodacom prepaid.

Can somebody explain the best & easiest way to do this?
 
Yup.

And that number Ockie gave was pretty painless.

Now if only I could transfer the airtime to a friend so it doesn’t go to waste, but Vodacom won’t let me use my own money.
 

Something fishy is going on.

Called 0821958 to cancel and got the following message after phone call.

Dear account holders name

your quotation has been processed [reference number ]

Use order number [ different to above reference number] when contacting vodacom customer care.

Agent claims contract will be cancelled next month but the wording of above sms has me paranoid.Where did order number come from,I explicitly asked to cancel and move to prepaid.

There wasnt any follow up sms from Vodacom confirming when contract will end etc.

Is this normal?

did you get a similar sms after you cancelled cos i feel very paranoid now.

Don’t recall getting that no.

Are you at the end of contract? As in the final month though?

Otherwise they would calculate a settlement value which is all I can think the term quotation relates to.
 
Vodacom give you a due date for next upgrade, is that same date when contract ends?
You can never tell with this lot.

I called this morning to cancel and got the same sms.
