Help please! I am currently an Afrihost subscriber with an ADSL line and a 4mb. With 100Gb data and my bill is R478pm. My speed test gives me ping 12ms Download 3.5Mb and upload .38Mb. From a usability point of view all is fine except occasional stop while a video is playing. I am interested in upgrading to fiber but now I get a little uncertain. There are 14 solutions offered on Constantia Fiber from R429 10Mb down 5Mb up 20Gb data to R799 10Mb down 5Mbup unlimited plus Telkom (no quote yet). One of the reasons for upgrading is to facilitate a Netflix connection for my son who lives on our property in a separate cottage.

Can anyone offer me some clarity on what I should go for and why?

Take whomever lets you have Cool Ideas Uncapped.

Actually just contact cool ideas directly and find out if they can help you.

Telkom IMHO is about the worst offering out there, and about the only people id like to avoid more is VOX I've heard to many bad things about their general lack of enthusiasm once they get your signature.

There is no need to justify why you want fiber. we all do.

There is a post with a list of many of the different service providers, they seem to fall into 2 categories. 1 they install the infrastructure and provide you with data. 2. They install and maintain the infrastructure and you pick your ISP.

In the end you need to pick your ideal solution / price. also have a close look at the terms as some of them can be sneaky. If you have options you're lucky. if you don't you either go with who is there or you don't get fiber.
