I have a PC that has collected a lot of dust inside the case. What is the best way of cleaning the case and the components inside?

make sure you don't blast your fans; got to make sure you stop them from spinning away before blowing 'em clean

Speaking of cleaning hardware - any suggestions what I can use to clean keyboards, some of them are really disgusting and I have to work on them ...
I've always wondered, do you think a person would be offended if I cleaned their keyboard first, something like and extra service?

Hopefully better than you construct titles.

Use a vacuum cleaner. Carefully with the compressed air. Spray on hand first to make sure that it doesn't contain any propellant that exits as a liquid & wait some time before switching the gear on so that any residual condensation has time to evaporate.

I'd rather just spend 50 bucks on an old cheapo keyboard than spend 20 minutes cleaning one! I got a cleaning kit from Makro the other day. Has antistatic foam, LCD cleaner and a can of compressed air.

I've used the old keyboard in the dishwasher trick successfully a few times ;) . Basically, you put your keyboard in the dishwashing machine, by itself and set it it on the:

1. Lowest Temp
2. No rinse cycle
3. Don't use any detergent

Then leave the keyboard to dry really, really well (else you'll have problems down the line, leave it upside down in a well ventilated area for a week I'd say). Makes the keyboard good as new :) . But, be warned, it's not for expensive keyboards or ones that are wireless, I'd only use that technique on a fairly cheap keyboard. Else, maybe just chuck it and replace as IRG said?
