How do i delete ipod from itunes....irratating

Better load an older version of iTunes then because by all accounts iTunes wants it running.

Also on Windows Media Player 11 - absolutely fantastic.

*Two months ago Sony's SonicStage rubbish tried to take over my pc, but I was vigilant and got rid of it immediately! Almost missed out on one of Sony's best mp3 Walkmans (NW-E005F), but VoidMP3FM saved the day. Hooray! :)

I think Sony's mp3 players are up there with the best (hardware), but the software is absolute rubbish. Don't like the fact that Sony forces you to use their 'media player', I'm quite happy with WMP11 & not likely to move to another player in the immediate future.

A work around to stop it from running:
Copy and past another exe file into the C:\Program Files\iPod\bin folder (i use the volume control sndvol32.exe from the C:\WINDOWS\system32\ folder) Delete the iPodservice.exe file and rename sndvol32.exe to ipodservice.exe. Now everytime u start iTunes the volume control opens but the iPodservice does not
