I want to start afresh and reload WinXP.I want to take all the crap off my PC and format my 80gig HDD and start like a new PC loading WinXP, Office, etc. How do I format this only HDD in my PC? I did a backup onto my external 250gig HDD.

Need to set it up in your bios, boot from your cd rom with the xp cd inside.
then just boot it with the cd and follow the steps.
agree to the rules - F8
then delete the partition, follow the instructions, need to press L to confirm and everything. After it is formatted, just creat a new partition. I always choose NTFS (not the quick one, dont know the difference).
Or you can create more than one partition as well.
After the partition is created just load xp on it. It will load the files in bios and then it takes you to an windows page to enter your username ect.
That takes another 39min.
Then you done.
beat me to it![]()
Like Brawler said, when you at 3rd base you'll know what to do.![]()
Thanx guys for your useful response. The reason why I want to format my HDD is because I loaded Vista transformer and it destroyed WinXP,and Vista transformer is slow with errors. I tried reloading WinXp but it still not the same, that's why I need to format my HDD first.
