How do I get addicted?

Come back dude, you can't prove anything by abstaining from here...lol

Its not classified an addictive substance to run a test like that

not that im saying you should test yourself.

Just be glad you haven't been in a position where you have been exposed to addictive substances over a period which could grab you.

I've also done my fair share of cocaine, x, etc. Didn't grab me either. I haven't used any drugs in forever. Never get cravings. Booze on the other hand is a different story.

I guess to me it's about having an outlet, just to unwind after a hard day. It's something different to everyone.

I am in the same boat but i must admit if i know someone has coc i almost fixate on it :D

Never got addicted, guess it has something to do my no going out on a school night that may have saved me from many a drug induced night of fun.

**** - forgot to tell him to use a clean needle.

LOL!....But once you're an addict and you don't even have money for needles you'll use the same one at least 10 times until its completely blunt...Then you'll raid your grans cupboard and steal a couple of he insulin needles....

I don't think he was referring to physical addictions but more along the lines of lifestyle patterns and favourite tv shows and shyte like that...

That like comparing a Heroin Addict to a weed smoker...You're still probably addicted.

Try cocaine for a while and then try to stop - That's when you realize you're addicted!

Cocaine is not NEARLY as addictive as heroin. ;) I've known people who used coke and then stopped because it was becoming expensive. The same cannot be said for heroin. And it is not possible to become addicted to food, like KFC, or McDonalds, as some fat American has claimed he was. Or drinks (cooldrinks, not alcohol) for that matter. One CAN become addicted to sex, though, and that is quite a serious addiction and can lead to problems and trouble with the law (no jokes here!)

Speaking as a recovering heroin addict (clean 7 years)...I can collaborate your statement...I abused coke, crack,x, and heroin...Heroin won and it stuck almost killing me over a 4 year period of hell....as for food addiction..There is such a thing...Its an eating disorder and is not specifically related to any type of food, KFC etc...Just the need to fill the void and appease the craving..Eating disorders are disguised addictions...

Eating to satisfy a craving is a mental disorder, not an addiction in the sense we are talking about. People eat when they are bored, or when they are unhappy they eat, etc etc.

EDIT: What I meant was you cannot claim to be addicted to Steers (in the same way you get addicted to heroin).

Addiction is a disease..Changes in the brain create a mental disorder..Eating disorders are a disease as well....But yes...I seriously doubt that going cold turkey off steers will give you the painfull withdrawals heroin does...Doubt you'll get convulsions, dihorreah, vomitting and mild epileptic seizures from not eating...

No addiction is worse than opiate addiction (fentanyl/heroin/pethadine etc). Having to use every 3-4 hours to avoid getting I'll becomes lifes mission. Living in constant fear that you might not have a fix to keep you feeling normal is hell in itself. No other chemical addiction comes close.

From what I understand (I'm no pro at this :p)

You don't get addicted by shooting up 1 once in lets say a week or so. You do however become addicted if you shoot up within a set time period without giving your body time to remove said substance from your body.

As an example, Drinking on occassion and even getting pretty pissed will not make you addicted. However getting pretty pissed, go to bed and wake up with another shot and you keep going. This will get you addicted.

I guess the same applies to any other drug or substance. Having a smoke once a month doesn't make you addicted to it, but smoking once or twice every 2 hours will. and and and <insert drug of choice here>
