I replaced a faulty SIM card more than 75 hours ago and it is still not activated. Tried the helpline- totally useless as they told me to go back to the store. Tried to call the Telkom Cavendish store for hours with no answer. Eventually contacted Cavendish Mall manager and they sent security to the store with a message to call me. They did call but problem not resolved approx 52 hours later! As mentioned it is impossible- ironically- to contact a telecoms store- no one answers the phone EVER. This is HIGH FARCE. Any suggestions? At my wits end AGAIN with Telkom. What is it with this company that it is so relentlessly grossly incompetent? Years and years of this s*** from this company. Over twenty years I have easily literally wasted weeks dealing with incompetence on an unprecedented level. Activating a SIM is not exactly rocket science.

It's an inconvenience to have to go to a Telkom store but it's much easier on the blood pressure than trying to do anything over the phone. In this respect Telkom is no worse than Vodacom, MTN or CellC.

I've changed two faulty SIMs in Johannesburg at the Cresta Telkom shop in the past 12 months. In both cases there was no charge and the SIM was working 30 minutes later when I got home.

Quite honestly one can't expect personnel who are busy serving walk-in customers, who may have waited some time before being attended to, to take telephone queries. I know I get severely irritated if the person attending to me stops to deal with a phone query and I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

The less said about trying to sort out a problem with the Helpless-Desk, the better.

With Telkom, I've found the most effective way to get help has been by sending an email to [email protected] On the occasions that I have used this service response has been rapid and the problems have been resolved satisfactorily in good time. One can also send a PM to the Telkom rep via this forum but I find email better as replies get delivered automatically. With a PM I need to log in to the forum and check manually.

Hi every one. I need help activating my Telkom sim card. I bought one over a week ago but it was never activated. I went back and bought another one this past Friday. Still not activated. It's says SIM card not actived even though I rica them at the store.
Customer care line just finished my airtime since I'm using Mtn SIM to call. No one is answering. I've been on hold for more than 30 minutes.
What else can I Do?

Thanx.

Take any rica'd telkom prepaid sim(even with zero airtime) insert it into a cellphone and dial telkom call centres--10210;10213;081180 for free. [10217 is for business packages, not for free] I have a telkom sim, never load any money, and was able to make over 50 calls to telkom call centres.
Or go to a telkom store and ask a consultant.

How do I activate my two new sim card contracts which I received on the 28th of October 2020?
