How do I know which router is compatible with my 3G modem?

OP,not to derail your original que,but if all you want to do is share the data from that sim,why not try a software solution first?
You already have the 3G modem,you need an application called http://www.connectify.me/Connectify.The way it works is once the 3G is connected,it then alows you to create a wifi hotspot using the laptops built in WiF.

Ofcourse this has its downsides as well,e.g laptop has to be on for you to connect with tablet,less battery life on lappy,the range wouldnt be as great either but both devices would be connected

That's a fantastic suggestion, thanks. I'm certainly going to give that a try! My work will pay for a router for me, though... so might do that anyway.

Considering what you wrote below, you might experience problems with software solution. It is why I suggest to go for the router. However I would investigate MiFi devices with built-in 3G modem like Huawei 5xx series. There are battery powered and small enough to take it on the road. In areas with low signal you can position it properly for better reception, you don't need to walk around with laptop.

The above is all Greek to me. Unload dashboard from memory? Huh? double click MDMA? Where?
