How do I stop a program from connecting to the internet?

Install a firewall app. I used Comodo Firewall in the past and it's excellent. Once the app tries to connect to the net, Comodo will pop up with a warning and you can select to disable it sending data to wherever.

Add a dummy proxy ip address in the program settings, and it won't be able to connect

If you know the dns name add it to /etc/hosts and point it to 127.0.0.1

In a nutshell, people dunno wtf you on about unless you provide more info

Can anyone please assist?

Which Operating SYSTEM is the program running on?
What is the name of the program you want to prevent from having access to the internet?
Do you perhaps have a domain name/IP Address where it connects to ?
Why do you want to prevent it from accessing the internet?

Winrar
Nope

No, we know what he means. There are different ways to skin a cat.
Except it's often not the program itself that's connecting. Vagueness doesn't help when troubleshooting or trying to solve problems.

I'm trying to block a program from connecting to the internet via Windows Firewall.

Well, I'm on windows 10.
Control Panel > System and security > Windows Firewall > Allow app/feature through firewall > Click the change settings thing > search for your app in the list and untick. If it isn't in the list, add it and untick.
(you can skip the control panel and System and security by opening run/start menu and typing in firewall.cpl and hitting enter, this applies from XP to 10.)
