How do you avoid being annoying?

Ah, oh, okay, @Jings. I'm relatively new here, and overlooked the fact that the gender-assumption question in this thread had been about a specific user. I was replying in general, to: "What is the opposite of assume?". Thanks.
Are you annoying too bro (yes I assumed you a brother)

My stupid dog decided to bark at the neighbours wall the whole evening.

So I have two options:

Post this

Or kill the dog.
Did you ever think that the dog was saving you from ghost of neighbors past. Give that dog a bells or kill the neighbor, but never kill the dog.

I have noticed a trend though. If someone posts, we generally assume they are male. We may even find their posts annoying. But the moment people realise that they are female - they are less annoying for a while. Then they become annoying again. So in the end - it is what they say and how they say it that determines whether they annoy us or not. Gender plays a very small role in this. But it is significant for some. Some people will never find women annoying and others will find them annoying as soon as the gender is out in the open.

So what does this all mean ? The person doesn't have to be annoying for someone to think they are. It is in the mind of the one becoming annoyed.
And I happen to like people others find annoying. Makes life more interesting.

I largely stick to myself, I always have due to being shy and a bit of an introvert.

A great example this morning, someone on our neighborhood WhatsApp group sent a message about load shedding, which I replied to saying that it is just in time to test our new inverter and batteries. I thought it was an innocent enough message, my girlfriend said I was being a bit of a p**s...

You see, you still an annoying p**s, even though you try to stick to yourself.

She is wrong. There is nothing wrong with that comment. It is actually quite funny.

We have one on our WhatsApp group who always mentions his solar and always says it cost a fortune

Annoying!

This is only the second time I have mentioned it and only because it was installed this last Wednesday and we haven't had any load shedding yet. I generally stay off of our neighbourhood WhatsApp groups unless there is an emergency or I can add proper value.
