Seeing as I don't drink or smoke, going to the pub doesn't seem like a lot of fun and clubs are just stuffed with drunk teenagers.

I am in my mid twenties, social, interesting and adventurous. Also I don't have any problem talking to new people, or even walking in and joining a strange group of people in conversation. Most of my old school friends went their own way, have kids and usually married.

I don't get to meet many new people in my daily life. Being a Programmer and CGI Artist that works from home, the range of new people I meet varies based on who's manning the tills at Pick and Pay.

If you want to meet new people get out of your comfort zone and into theirs, whether that means learning to love a few beers or watching and getting into a new sport or even joining a club of some sorts(personally I recommend skydiving rather than golf)

Take up a sport, clubs I agree with you on, but Pubs aren't that bad (if you have a decent one near were you live) I met my other half there and she doesn't smoke or drink...

Take up some hobbies or activities e.g. RC Car racing, Cooking classes etc.

New friends, no thank you:

And after having children this will apply:

But seriously now, starting a new hobby/sport or activity lets you meet new people that can become friends.
You still have to find people you like there, but it makes it a lot easier.

+1000 points to skydiving. An ideal sport I'd love to try will be rock climbing. But I'm somewhat broke, and will be for some time.

I'm not quite sure what to do in a pub if you walk in alone. But I can start with taking a sketch pad or a book with.

Current Hobbies include : CGI, Sketching, Playing Starcraft for VnR, and a list of other random projects to make that the guys at House for Hack helps me with. As for activities, the only place I know of to find those is on Gumtree. But there's not a whole lot happening in Centurion the last time I checked. :(

lol. Not planning on children yet.

Sports Clubs
Or User/Interest Groups

Current Sport is Starcraft for VnR. They're awesome guys to play with and we do have a braai every now and then. But I'm not sure I'd call any of them a friend.
