as the title says...ne ways to get extremely good at games without your basic practice 24/7..

I think you first need to ask yourself why do you want to get good?

is there an agelimit to this thread ??? or am i WAY too old to throw a bitchy remark ???

:) There ya go laddy

I'll forgo the bitchy remarks - its Sunday

If you have so much time on your hands to play any game, then Its only Presistance, Patience & Time that would aid you.

I've been playing NFSU2 for the past few months on and off, the longer i leave it, the harder it is to get back into it... So - Practice makes perfect

What are you playing Btw ?

I play most fps shooter games and strategy,so basically quake,cs,fear, warcraft, generals ...that type of thing, i jst feel since I'm playin,y not try get as good as possible, isnt that techinically y u play,2 have some fun and do as well as u can

you play the game because you enjoy playing it. There is always another game out there, and the challange starts from scratch, the controls, and feel for the game (game personality) is different - so doesnt matter how good you are with any other game, you have to learn again and again...

at the end of the day what you are really getting good at, is Hand Eye co-ordination which isnt a bad thing at all, also teaches your brain to react to a given situation faster

thats deep...games jst feel more fun when u can play properly though, like quake- when i 1st startd,i thought this sux but now that i can sort of play is way better

ofcourse - like anygame

I started playing Freelancer some time ago, for the life of me, couldnt get into the game because i believed you needed a varsity defree to undertand it.

... needless to say i figured it out faster than a varsity degree would take, and i finished the game 6 times allready - loved it. : ) - Time for Freelancer 2 :)))

same with Farenheit,I thought that game was crap, when i 1st started play but now it rocks!

1. Firstly make sure you've got decent frame rates! Forget Eyecandy and go for speed. Oh and a decent mouse.
2. There's no substitute for pratise and patiences.
3. Most importantly, play against other human beings, not bots. Watch and learn! You may get toasted for a while, but pay attention to how they do it and learn.

getting good takes practice that ull never put into a game (ie. the topic), so heres the short version.

strategy games, watch demos, copy build schedules (order and placement in which structurs are built to get the best startup for ur strat) and strats (strat eg. = drop 2 lurkers next to an enemy resource base -starcraft), strat doesnt have to be technical, but just an idea of what must be done, so u can replicate it.

FPS, watch demos, learn about angles (places to stand and shoot that result in the most effective defence or offence), learn about timing (ways in which u can calculate where an enemy might be or what he may be doing by the amount of time passed, this goes for items as well)

FPS tip works for cs and quake
anyway this is the short dodgy way that'll get u better than most noobs even if u have a bad aim, but thats pretty much it, u aint gonna get much further if the person ure playing has 1% more experiance. gl hf anyway

Is there some shortage of post space that I wasn't aware of that there is a need to reduce common language usage down to alphanumerics instead of complete written words?

It's WHY not "y"
It's YOU not "u"
It's ANY not "ne"
It's TOO or TO not "2"

Here endeth the lesson.

thank you for that but as I have been told I am very lazy and thus such complicated words are required to be shorten as to ease the time in which it takes to read the post as life is going by so fast and thus once again, time cannot be wasted on typing:D

Well, reading a post with "shortened" words such as that leads me to believe that the author is retarded. :p

I can prob only offer advice on cs.

The thing that will make you good at that, is to think.
Many people slam fps games like cs cos they say u dnt need to think u just run and shoot people, but those are generally the people at the bottom of the score sheet.

1stly you need to know the map back to front. That you can only achieve by playing it alot.
once you have done that you must use what has been given 2u, things like sound for instance. People underestimate how much sound gives away their actual position and if you know where your enemy is you have the advantage.

2ndly aim for the head. as cliched as that may sound, try going into a game and saying ok im only going to shoot people in the head. and when u see an enemy concentrate on shooting him in the head, say u miss u will prob still shoot him in the chest.

3rdly as mentioned above concentrate. u will be suprised how well u do if u just concentrate. a friend of mine was playing and getting average scores, so i said to him ok for the next 5mins concentrate, think of where you are going to aim and where the enemy is going to be and where his head is going to be and concentrate on hitting his head. He immediatly started owning.

4thly something i notice alot when spectating other people is that when they walk their crosshair is facing down, now when an enemy appears he has to raise his mouse and try kill the enemy. Instead of doind this walk with your crosshair at head height and keep it there, u will have the time advantage over your enemy. to know what head height is, when you spawn just aim for one of your teamies heads and keep it at that height.

5thly use things like flash bangs and grenades, how often do u die after you have done lets say 80dmg to someone? well if u nade that person 1st then that 80dmg is enought to kill him. Flashies also give a huge advantage if u hear someone then try flash him 1st then kill him. saves u from worrying if he will kill u 1st.

anyway theres more stuff i cant think of atm
Hope it helps
cheers
