How do you get started with Sharepoint?

I would like to start learning Sharepoint.

What is the best way to get started and what training materials would you recommend?

Also do you think it's a good skill to learn?

The reason is I'm currently a Network admin and our sharepoint site is just sitting there so I would like to start developing on it.

To get started on Sharepoint you have to fail another coding language... or just about all of them.
