Hi all
How do you have a scanner on a network in Xp? The scanner under the control panel does not have the share options that the printers have
Thanks
what scanner is it?
I'm sure it's possible to write a script / find some app that will auto-scan an image you put in at a certain DPI and put it on a shared folder, which might be good enough for most needs?
I still don't get the point though. You still have to walk over to where the scanner is to put the document in it to scan it. Why not just scan it from that computer while you are there?![]()
That machine is connected through a wall to my boss's pc. So when he is in a meeting you don't have physical access to the pc but you do have access to the Canon machine because it is in another office.
I'm interested in scanning using the auto document feeder as it is much quicker.

Thanks. Use get what you pay for I guess - I tried it and it was throwing up errors and messed up the printer/fax driver requiring a re-install.
My work-around solution worked far better![]()
