My client had his external HD stolen with 6 weeks worth of data. He wants to put the new HD in the roof and have it accessible via a wireless network connection, wireless because he does not want wires to be traced to the device.

What would the best solution be to connect the HD to a wireless router? Also, the 54 mbps over 802.11 g is a bit slow, is there a faster way to connect?

Thanks Juggy, looks like the right thing. The challenge is now to get the highest wireless speed, any ideas on that? The new notebook will be a high-end HP, will have to check up on the built-in wireless card spec.

Asus has a 2.5" hard disk enclosure with built in wireless.

Placing a hard disk in a roof might not be a good idea, the combined heat of the roof and hard disk operation might cause it to overheat and fail.
