How do you survive a teething baby?

This may sound strange but i've heard that some people take bagels and freeze them. They let their little ones gnaw on it and it apparently helps. Anything cold will help.

I take you are already using teething gel?

Good luck! Teething is no fun.

That burns like hell! I'm on it atm, so I know. :)
We use Teething powders, Ashton & Parsons infants powders. Costs R16 at Dischem. Vidol is also not bad, but costs a lot more, and we have found the Ashton one works better. Then you can also ask for a Teething mixture at the pharmacist. It's basicely a pain killer, and something to make them sleep. Then also Calpal painkiller is also very good. Our baby is 5 months now, and started with teething pains from 2 months. We hope for the first 2 teeth soon. But teething is a bastard, we know.

I found Vidol worked the best. Also watch for nappy rash at teething times. Calpal to help with the pain is good too.

ponstan and ponstell (both the same but one is the generic version) brings a fever down too.

i am not sure if the spelling is correct.

+1 for the Calpal, and for the Vidol, well every baby have their own preference. :) We do use the teething mixture we got at the pharmacy now and then, but not a lot. It helps for now, but she's always grumpy the next day.

I thought a lot about this teething thing. Just think for a sec how hard it must be. For that teeth to grow through the gums. I cant live with just a little bit of tooth ache.

We were told she's too young for that. Wonder what is the minimum age when they can start with that?
