Hi everyone I have upgraded my fibre speed but it takes about 24-48hrs to do it. Then after that time i got home and only the upload speed changed and the download speed stayed the same. My question is how does an upgrade of speed get changed? Does the isp have to flip a switch at the exchange or is it just a push of a button?

The technician said something like my ONT had to be reprogrammed? I did watch a youtube video how fibre gets connected to the home but I'm sure they skipped a few steps. Can anyone explain how an upgrade of fibre speed goes through?

As soon as the client requests an upgrade from clientzone, it creates a ticket for our Fibre Ops Team to manually place the order with Metrofibre. Once the order is complete, it automatically queues a reprovisioning work order on the new speed. It is all done remotely.

Thanks for your response, I was more asking how it works and how the speeds get adjusted? Is it the ONT that needs to be reprogrammed and is that done remotely? They were able to fix the speed last night.

re-provisioning is done remotely with the FNO.
