HI morkhans,

I do understand how complaining and giving feedback on a public forum should work.

I've done a number of 'thank you's to Vodacom - some that you've merged into massive threads that I can't really find again. If you search you may even find them (http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...High-Latency?p=3893166&viewfull=1#post3893166 and http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/194655-Degrading-signal/page2 are two I've found in a few minutes).

However over the past year, there's a pattern : down for between 3- 6 weeks and up again for a week. I get really tired of nagging over and over again for the periods it is down, to have it rectified for a week and place a 'thank you Vodacom! You're the best! I love you!' when all they're doing is providing the service that I pay for and should get. It's really sad when we have to lick ass because we actually received a service we pay for. Also - due to this being a cycle - it'll go down within days of me having posted ...

When I say 'down', I don't always mean nothing / zero. Although many times I do, other times I can blast along at about 128k with my full signal HSDPA. Bear in mind that I'd use them for 5 years and my data costs alone were R600.00pm. I still needed to take out Telkom 3G and Cell C contracts to avoid needing to go to postnet again.

I am not a Vodacom client right now - so I haven't tried the network in the past 2 weeks. I can't comment on what is happening now. I still - however - contribute to their revenue with my contracts that I make no use of anymore.

I must also tell you about service : the other night Cell C was on EDGE only and I sent a mail through to customer care. Being an ex Vodacom user, I half expected a generic 'here's your ref # and we'll look into the problem' with them either not coming back or coming back in the New Year. I woke the following morning and things were perfect yet again. I was horrified when later that day I received a reply from an accountable person asking for more details on the problem. I replied it was fixed - and he replied again letting me know there was actually an issue in my area.

Now with Vodacom, it took months of nagging and eventually they sent an engineer out to my place to test the signal. They promised feedback and ... nothing. I email my reference number and ... nothing. I PM'd VodacomData and ... nothing. To this day there has been ... nothing.

And lastly I've been with Vodacom for about 15 years and always raved. I've used their 3G for about 3 years and have two BIS contracts, a data contract and a Top Up contract. I never hated the company until this year when things degraded to such an extent it frustrated me. My BIS contract worked for all of 2 months before BIS would go down 20-30% per day. Friends would simply SMS because it was terribly unstable. This lasted 4 months before they fixed it :/

Merry Xmas

Hi SDM

Please email onlinesupport@cellc.co.za. Our technicians are standing by to assist with any technical issues.

Regards

Cell_C

I am sorry to tell you this, but it took your guys 3 weeks to respond to my e-mails ... and even then, their answer was meaningless and did not satisfy my complaint. :(

Tell Trevor is a marketing hoax. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I have not been able to check my balance using the Cell C dashboard (Mobile Partner) since Friday evening. Up till then, it had been working fine!

Anyone else experiencing the same problem?

My cellphone is on VC, so I either have to make a very expensive call (thanks to Cell C's incredibly long waiting time to answer) OR I have to take my Cell C SIM and stick it into my cellphone to make a call. What a schlepp!

Can Cell C not provide a website similar to Vodacom4Me.co.za ?

Thanks, morkhans!

Meanwhile, I manage to get through to the call centre and, while talking to them, my USSD problem was suddenly resolved. They said it was "probably due to a technical hitch".

I have no problems with CELL C after posting some detail information on what base station I connect 2, in about 20minutes the issue was resolved, couldn't use my BLACK dongle forcing to use 3G, only my white dongle was able to access 3G, after posting my problem - they resolved it in like 20minutes or so.

I am happy now expericing whooosh speeds for a change in my area -- 4 x 5 gig already depleted.,

Cell C HSPA inconsistency

Interesting to see all the points where guys signal has dropped to Edge using Cell C HSPA+. Got the black dongle in early Dec (Jhb) and got the whoosh speeds for the rest of the month. Sadly Jan onwards has been poor and continuously getting worse. Funny thing is the device claims 4/5 bar WCDMA or HSPA signal. For the most part over the past week I have been able to get better response from a Vodacom 3G modem with only 1 bar of signal. Very disappointing...

Hopefully I get a response from my Tell Trevor post.
