How download speeds drop so drastically

The is the corker, the blame has been shifted numerous times now!

Ensync, our ISP eventually put a call into Telkom to come check our office line. The guy arrives here and starts a conversation with us and then goes on to ask us who our ISP is. (Obviously not knowing that Ensync had put the call in). I tell him our ISP is Ensync and he shook his head saying that Mweb and Ensync are the majority of clients they are called out for because they are notoriously bad ISP's. He went on to tell me that he is not "selling Telkom" but that it is much better to have your ADSL through Telkom under one umbrella.

Now, we might actually take that option because we need a static IP address and apparently, Telkom now offers some kind of VPN lite option.

On another note then. I know that sites like MyBroadband and Hellkom have done a fair amount of good at making the public aware. But it is, as VioAdmi so nicely put it, moving at the speed of snail sperm.

What else can we do? For the masses, they choose to just pay because starting up a fight would mean too much work.

I've often wondered what would happen if people just had a general telecomms strike.

Everyone just refuses to pay their telephone/mobile bill for one month of the year until they listen to us and bring about the change the rest of the world is enjoying.
