How fast is it supposed to be?

Well, I got my modem yesterday and RUSHED home after work, to go and play...

didn't go to well... []

I moved the modem all over my study, and could muster only one light on the modem (barely), eventhough the map says I'm supposed to have "High Probability Indoors"

So, I started moving around the rest of my house, and eventually found a spot upstairs where I get five lights.

Here's the question though: Does the signal strength affect the speed? I know that on Sentech it didn't, but on one light I got a max of 7.8KBps.

Where I have it now, it jumps between one and two lights the whole time, more on one than two though.

Will the speed improve with the better signal I have upstairs? I sincerely hope so.

Now all I have to do is get my wireless network sorted out. ugh.

yes, signal effects speed and ping times with WBS, but as you noticed, you got 100% (or close to) signal IN YOUR HOUSE, unlike sentech where the strongest signal in someone's house without an antenna was 34%

LOL! that's true noone... And with the Sentech (*spit*) modem, you just had to look at it wrong and it would loose signal. The signal on the iBurst modem is quite robust.
