Its fine for gaming, just realise that you will not be able to upgrade your CPU without upgrading your motherboard as well since socket LGA775 is practically dead. I would suggest you go for LGA1156 (with a i5-750 CPU) or AM3 (Phenom 955/965 CPU) on the AMD side instead. Also, for gaming the GPU is more important 90% of the time, so make sure you have a look at that too :)

Tough choice at the moment. The above will be fine for gaming, but as mentioned, you may want to check out an i5 for slightly more money, and have potential upgrade options (although by the time you need to upgrade, something else may be available.). For your purposes however, the quad will be fine for some time....

Thanks for replys guys... How is the HD5770 1GB 128BIT GDDR5 ?? Will this work??

Its a decent GFX card, but do not expect to play with everything set to max at a resolution of 1920x1080. You should be able to enjoy medium settings though.

It will work. Take a look at the Sapphire 5770 VaporX, its a decent card. Of course if you were to buy the Quad, and not a i5, then you could take the R800 or so saved and put it towards a 5850 VaporX. Which is nicer....

+1, 5850 VaporX FTW.What screen you got?It doesn't help you buy a powerful GPU and you running
a 17'' LCD.I would suggest getting a 23'' screen if you don't already have one for running 5850.

Don't go socket 775. Really now. I'd say go i5, but getting an Athlon II 630 and that 5850 will give you waaaay better performance than an i5 and 5770.

Yeah don't get 775. If you're buying new, get Core i3 or i5. There are AMD options too. I'm not a huge fan of the Athlon II X4, since it has poor single-threaded performance. The Athlon II X2 is great though!

Hmmm,,,,, I have a 23 samsung. Yeah the prob is that im not paying for the stuff and my father alr orderd it. Im just buying myself the GPU... So its not gona be all that great then?

No it's fine, actually a kick-ass system. Just get a good GPU and you're good to go.

The link in your cig is e-broken
:D

It's gonna be sufficient sure. But you should enquire about this stuff before ordering stuff.
For instance:
1. With a non-Intel board you would be able to OC your CPU from between 3.0 - 3.4GHz and be more or less on par with a Phenom II 940 or so.
2. Could have gone with an AMD upgrade path.
etc.

Ye a 5770 is going to be sufficient for med-high settings at 1920x1080, generally.
