How Linked Devices will work on WhatsApp

About f-ing time multiple devices can use the same account.
How WhatsApp is prevalent with the general public and Discord isn't, still baffles me.
 
Sounds like a whatsapp web rework, but that will mean the linked devices will need the "master" device to be connected.

In that case, messages will first go to master, then master will send to linked devices. So double, triple, etc data usage.
