How long does it take to upgrade line speed?

Hi Gents,

As the heading suggests, how long does it usually take for Telkom to push up your line speed?

I phoned in on Monday requesting that they upgrade my line from a 2mb to a 4mb but I'm still syncing at 2048, some guys at work said it should be instant, yet the lady said allow up to 7 days?

Whats you experiences?

I already have a 4mb uncapped account with another ISP.

I think the longest I ever waited was an hour..

They can do it on the phone while you wait. Restart required of course. Whether they will is another matter. Good luck.

Just an update, I phoned in on Friday to technical support, I told them I applied on Monday and I'm still syncing on 2mb.

What do you know, right there on the phone the lady just says oh sorry, some typing in the background, ok you have 4mb now

Get home and restart my router, bam what do you know I have 4mb, so had the first person done their job, I would have had 4mb on Monday already... Sigh, all good now though!

8 years later... Afrihost still has the instantaneous thing going on, but Axxess is taking forever and a day. They actually billed me incorrectly based on the change being effective immediately

Through 10210 it takes forever because you can't get through.
