How long does it take to upgrade line speed?

Technically they can instantly change it. But from my own experience, it's very rare that they do so. And instead you are made to wait days or even a week or more.

As you know, it would depend on the DSLAM, IMAX, MSAN or ISAM that you are connected to...

If on an old DSLAM (4Mbps maximum) and you want to upgrade to 10Mbps, a techie will have to go out and physically change your connection to a different DSLAM, etc. in the exchange. So it won't be immediate.

RIP anyone who is on a DSLAM... So slow and so susceptible to congestion.
 
I am waiting more than 2 days already. Went back to the Telkom Shop this afternoon. I could see on the system the upgrade request is still pending (4 to 10 mb).
 
Last week my sister upgraded from 2 MB to 4 MB, they told her up to 7 days and in the end it took 5 days.
