how long does it take to upgrade the line?

You are far too easy on them. After TELLING them that you already waited 14 days, request to by put through to their supervisor. DEMAND the upgrade today!

just called again, the order is still in progress...
and, most likely they said it will only be activate by next week, and, when it activated, i will be charged at 4mb line rental, therefore, this month, i will be paying 4mb line rental which i'll most probably only use for 1-2 days in this month...

They pro-rata the rental but, if with TI as your ISP, they charge you in full for your 5Gb or whatever you cap is.

was immediate, took them about 30 minutes and i had an upgraded link from 384 to 4meg and a new 5 gig account

s quick question, i just called them, they said, the status is unknown, the lady said they nto sure whether they can provide 4mb line at my area or not, so they have to send a guy to check.
anyone like next to rosebank/birdheaven/melrose arch area in jhb? anyone got 4mb line? i am pretty sure my area must support 4mb.. it's like 900m away from melrose arch....

I think that's your problem, it's near a very busy data area and you may have been too late to ask for a 4mb line. We're all just guessing at this stage, the only people who can tell you what's going on is Telkom...keep bugging them dude.

Omg go to www.isat.co.za apply for an line upgrade, and have it done the same day, and pay a bit less for your line as well. I applied via them for a upgrade and it was same day.
