how long does it take to upgrade the line?

hi~ i went to telkom direct on sunday to upgrade my 384k adsl to 4mb line.
i read some ppl said the activation is almost instant, so i was expecting the hgh speed on monday, but until now, still dl'ing things at 38kb/s :/
anyone got any clue?
 
Well, yesterday I applied online with my ISP to have my line upgraded from 384Kb to 4Mbps and is was upgraded this afternoon.

I would suggest you phone Telkom sometime and ask them because it should be almost instant if you call Telkom, or that's what I'm led to believe
 
ye i did restart router and still dl'ing 38kb/s~
i called telkom just now and they said it's still under process, and may take up to 14 days.. :<
damn.. i want it!
 
that sounds like they think you upgrading your normal telephone to 4 mbits

make sure they know you got dsl already and want to change to 4 mbits mine was instant when i made sure they knew that
 
They charge you pro-rata, even for these days when it's still at 384k?? You never know with those scumbags...
 
Its usually instant, if not then you have to phone them again.

It could be you spoke to one of the morons that said it will be done, but never bothered to upgrade you.

beside, i live so close to melrose arch, there's no way 4mb is not supported!!

You are far too easy on them. After TELLING them that you already waited 14 days, request to by put through to their supervisor. DEMAND the upgrade today!
