How long does it take to upgrade to 1Mbit?

Dude....have you been living in a cave all this time??? It ranges between R250 and R680 extra for ADSL plus your ISP which will be between R200 and R299 depending on what you go for. Can be much higher if you want an uncapped account. I still can't believe the question....

I laughed my ass off. Sorry. :)

PS: I also applied for the 1mbit upgrade, two weeks ago. They've upgraded the line now, but they are not 100% finished yet...whatever that means.

Looks that You still have Youre a.... Ass ....Be advised that yes not everybody knows about ADSL and the internet. Maybe they were in the ADSL cave. For 4 posts you sound like the know it all type because You have it all......or just got it Hehe

Rather be constructive and refer the guy to a site where he can get the information,...........or do You even know where to get it

k, arrived home this evening and I hadn't been disconnected but my downloads were suddenly cruising at a stable 105 or 111 K/s!
Telkom certainly kept their promise for once... i'm impressed.
Satisfied so far... let's see how it goes.. i get 980kbits on the telkom speed test, but as expected, same pings etc as on lower packages.
The difference between 384K up and 1024K is (in my eyes) unnoticable unless downloading large files...
According to my router page, the downstream has gone from 640 to 1152 and my upstream is now 384...

:) Good for You All mine were exactly the same, except the international side did not seem to prosper.......Would like to see what Yours do ON TCPIQ or broadband testing though for comparison

So despite getting fed up with waiting for telkom and canceling the upgrade to 1mbs a couple of weeks ago I noticed during a large file download that I was getting a fairly constant ±75kbs.

Seems they've ignored my cancellation and decided to upgrade the line regardless. My line status reflects this.

I've had it too long that's why I can't believe the question he asked.
Take a chill pill and have a beer, would really help you relax. I only have 4 posts, cause I don't spend my entire day bitching and moaning about something I can't do anything about.

Well Maestr0, thats no way for a master to behave! You know, there is a special sub-forum for gripes, so please take your personal attacks there, and leave the other forums a bit more constructive! :D

Read again You will note it was said in friendly tone. So You just confirmed what I said was right..From Your post I guess You are about 16-17 if I am wrong then it must me mentally. Then after You read this Go to the bathroom and check the only ass near you has a hole in it, Use it, After You are done I will delete his fartherly advice to save YOU some face.

Edit: Believe it there will be many more people asking the same questions when they suddenly get this technology. I spoke to a middle-aged black driver today, Took me home, Living in Naledi Soweto, that did not even know what internet is. I invited him in my home and showed him the technology that Telkom is denying him. Get my drift. There is zillions to still ask the same question. We do not want to scare them away because we hurt their feelings and make a ass of them. We need to help them and then they would probably return and post here and not take to long to tell us their views and experiences. 6000 can then become 600000 members.

Mine got upgraded at some stage last week while I was away on holidays. So, it took about three weeks. My router says the the line is faster. The Telkom speed test now also says it is faster (Estimated line speed: 949.5 (kilobits/second)). TCP/IQ is mostly the same but with some spikes, the biggest being 828 yesterday morning.
