quite = to the greatest extent/ completely/exact
quiet = no noise /not busy

To your issue, call them again and ask, you are their costumer and if they are not delivering services, chew some people out. And ask for pro-rata.

Edit: The full-stop adds a lot to your communication skills.

Live in the North of Jhb. Took 2 days from application to installation of new line /adsl

costumer = dresses up somebody or makes costumes
customer = consumer/client

I'm sure they are gonna do it but I'm just impatient just wanna know how long does it take and I am posting from phone that's why fullstops are not being used

:D omg...my sides.

Hey OP, your phone however old is equipped with a fullstop :).

We haven't had long periods of install times when we applied more than 5 years back and more recently for my bro. Try to get into contact with the TD Store and speak with Nisha, be patient and courteous [use fullstops if supported] and ask if she can check what is going on, she should ask for your O.N.

:)

Do you have the adsl Modem? if so plug it in, the exchange should run the jumper 1st. look for dsl sync..

It depends on how Telkom are feeling.

I applied over the phone and mine happened the same / next day, depending on how you look at it. :P
Although I have previously had to wait a few days for the tech to do it.

If you have an existing copper phone line, the installation itself takes between 15 and 45 seconds to provision the service. The rest is just bureaucratic overhead. :D

So the technicians do not need to patch anything in on an exchange or anything of that sort to provide you with ADSL one you have a telephone line?

That blanket statement is not true. If there was an exisitng ADSL service on that physical line then it would be true. However if it's a new installation then the techie would have to run a few jumpers.
