I am quite upset with MTN now.

My Vodacom contract officially ended 28 Feb. On the Thursday, I walked in to MTN and spoke to an articulated youngster at the front desk.

I asked him what the process was wrt porting from Vodacom.
He said we first get approval for the contrac. We then request a port from Vodacom, and upon approval the number is ported.

Cool.

I then asked: "How long does the credit checking/approval for a new contract take MTN?" Upon which he answered: "24-48 hours".

Fine.

This is now 72 hours later, and still nothing. The problem is now, I have to pay Vodacom and MTN at the same time, since the contract cancellation is taking place during this month and not the previous month.

My question is this:
How long is the authorisation for the taking out of a contract with MTN supposed to take?

How long must I wait for me to get a sim card from MTN with a phone?

This is absolutely bullschit !!!

Who do I speak to? The 083 1808 number loops - there is no options list !!!!

What must I do (since MTN isn't doing anything..)?

They can do it in 30 minutes.

My f*** !!!!

Holy G*ddamn pice of schit, usless f***** retards!!!

This is ridiculous. Someone is going to die.

I just got off the phone with Vodacom, with them saying they have not received any correspondence from any service provider concerning my cell number.

Anyone staying near Northgate should stay faaar away from the MTN store.

All hell is going to break loose there. Not a nice sight.

Wait MTN, you just wait. Tomorrow is going to be one hell of a day.

Go back to Vodacom... trust me, its going to be uphill from here.

I have to agree. I ported from Vodacom to MTN and everything on Vodacom was just that little bit easier.

I ported to Vodacom to MTN and glad I did so.

I had a similar problem to you ID... paying Voda for an extra month. It seems like they want to make us pay for leaving.
