How long to port?

So yesterday morning I requested a port in of my number. Was told it would happen today. Sim still not active....
 
Did the port take place already? I ported from MTN prepaid to Telkom prepaid and port took place same day. MTN even sent me a Good bye sms @ 19:00 to say they wish me well and would welcome me back anytime. 5 min later the port was done.
 
Nope. They farked it up when they captured the request. Still waiting.
 
Something went wrong. From what network are you porting? Is it a prepaid number?

If you request a port before 17:00 +- then the port will take place the same day. If it does not happen by the next day the port was declined by your donor network.
 
The telkom people captured it as a port from prepaid when in fact they should have captured it as port from contract, so it was rejected. Turns out that if it hasn't been prepaid for at least a month (or three months depending who you talk to) then they must say contract. fark knows.
Was processed again around 11 today, but hasn't gone through yet.

Did you get a SMS from your current network about the port out request? I think if you port from a contract there is so many things that will go wrong.

No. Still waiting.
It's prepaid Btw. Cell c switched it on Monday and deleted all my rollover bundled data, the ****s.

Yup. Everyone here thought it was very funny when I ripped out the sim and threw it into the garden... :D

I literally pi$$ed on mine. Went outside. Chucked the sim onto the grass and got it nice and wet...... gardener is going to wonder WTF a sim card is doing in the garden when he comes by next week....
