How long will I be throttled by Mweb?

As near as I can tell from traffic graphs Showmax is streaming at around 1.5Mbps so we're looking at around 0.7GB/hr (16GB/day).

does anybody actually stream for 8 hours a day? Serious question that

I thought i would do that, as i only stream, but i struggle to stream for more than a couple hours before i leave and do other things

I'm on 4mb standard and I've been throttled by mweb for a week now and even though I have lessened my habits things haven't gotten better, I would argue they're worse. The throttling is so bad there are times I can't do much, not even read any news articles. It's like I've been thrusted back to dial up days. It feels like i'm going to be throttled til the end of time, anything I can do to make it better?

MWEB works on a rolling 30day window. So depending on how much you downloaded it can take a while.

Just upgrade to 4Meg premium. Standard only lets you use 110GBs, while premium lets you use 400GBs.

Do yourself a favour OP, give them notice. It is also coincidentally a calendar month that they will continue to stick the knife in. Get yourself a proper ISP that doesn't throttle you after a pitiful amount of gigs for "uncapped". MWEB used to be good, don't get me wrong. If you are an old tannie that just emails and facebooks all day long, it's the perfect ISP for you. If you actually want to use the Internet, get a proper ISP.

His own fault for choosing standard uncapped. Same as the people that get home uncapped and expect an uncontended line.

Pay for Business/Premium and you will be a lot happier.

Remember 4Meg standard only let's you use around 3.3GBs a day on average. If you upgrade to 4Meg premium you can use around 13GBs a day. Big difference.

If you upgrade your account to 6Meg standard(But keep your line 4meg), you would be able to use around 5GBs a day.

OP, you will be throttled forever. The only solution to un-throttle yourself is to change isp's

Don't allow mweb to fool you into taking a more expensive package. They are just waiting to milk you like a cow. Their are other isp's that offer capped packages at cheaper rates and give you free midnight data

It's a 30 day rolling window.

With Mweb it's not about "less" but rather doing none at all for a few days and then always floating under the limit.

Log into the portal and see what your usage is and then get under the threshold.

So if it's at 115gb and the limit is 110...you need to do 5Gb less than you did on the same day 30 days ago to be unthrottled.
