How mobile termination rates in SA compare

Who cares about the MTR? The rates were reduced but call costs stayed the same. So, even if the rates were reduced to zero, SFW?

As I said on this forum a year ago, don't expect much movement in charges by cell phone companies as they will just change the billing model to retain profits eg. more per minute billings than per second.

Show me one company that has shown a reduction in profits since termination rates began this "glide path" phase? Their original protestations were all just a smoke screen to perpetuate their obscene profit making.

Dear ICASA,
Please do not reduce termination rates any more as Alan Knott-Craig says this will lead to a further increase in retail prices.

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm?

absolutely not. in fact I think ICASA should take Mr Knott-Craig's counter-intuitive truth to its logical conclusion and immediately implement a glide path for the increase of mobile termination rates so as to allow retail rates to fall.

Hahaha joke of the day... Why do they care. Increase in retail prices simply means money will go to someone elses pocket. That's a fact which these mobile companies don't want to happen
