How much Adblock Plus charges for whitelisting a website

Can't really compare to spam mail and sms'. I get what you're saying though(you don't go to a site to get spammed:)), but you choose to go to the website. You are visiting the website, the website isn't suddenly popping up on your pc, arriving in your mail box etc.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with the intrusive ad crap needs to stop. This only exists because of the over the top spam ads on various sites. But, there is a serious problem with the direction these guys have taken.

Yes, they should just block all ads and not offer a middle ground.

Its now beyond, 'ads'/'no ads'/'should this be allowed'/'ad activists tears'.
A 'company' now exists that has the ability to cut off another companies revenue until they pay them x percent of it. Thats now their business model. Block a companies revenue until that company pays us.

Makes me think of HelloPeter :D I agree to some extent. This software does not come pre installed, users have to download and install it if they want to, or if they are aware of it. But yes, they sold out for money. uBlock Origin now for me. Screw ads.

If you watch a TV channel and there are ads inbetween, do you watch them? No, you change the channel. Even though you are voluntarily watching the TV show, you are manually AdBlockPlussing the ads with the remote. Or if you recorded it you just fast forward past them.

Even Chevron (the Caped Crusader of Spam and Shady ISP Practices) went mysteriously quiet when I asked him if he watches every single ad during a rugby game and accuses everyone who goes for a pee instead of theft. Because that's the logical conclusion of claiming that ads are payment.

Shaking down websites and making them pay to be on a whitelist is dodgy yes but again, who is more wrong? It's like a gang that just robbed a bank being held up and robbed by another gang. Hard to feel sorry for either of them.

Yeah, ads are bloody everywhere. Look at a sports match. All around the arena/pavilion, on the players' outfits, on every single surface capable of displaying an ad. On the water bottles, etc etc. Should you be watching it on TV, on your screen as well. It's nauseating.
