That Vienna one is odd, social and subsidized housing makes up probably half the pool and is at 200-500 EUR per month. Maybe heating included?

Old place: 650 for 40m^2, new 900 for 80m^2, both are private and I'm paying a lot for location.

Including heating, water and electricity: 760 for the first, 1070 for the latter.

Over 2/3 rent in Vienna. I find rent here is probably "cheaper" than most of Cape Town if like for like, especially for relative earning and most definitely once city programs are included.
 
Still the same. R40k+ for a 60 sq.m flat on the xx floor with no outside space. Buying the flat would cost almost R20 mil, and this at a time when prices are at a 8-year low.
