How much does being angry actually affect your driving?

It has a direct affect on driving style. Don't need to click on the article to find that out.

Driving makes me angry. I'm not angry before I drive.

yup, I'm so glad I don't have to drive anymore on these roads, and this coming from someone who was (still is I guess) a car enthusiast

If somebody won't get out of the right lane, I get rather upset. I will never force the issue if there is a solid line, or traffic in the left lane preventing the car from getting out of the way.

But if the person just sits there for no reason, I get angry. However, I've come up with a very useful way of channeling my rage though.

I overtake on the left, then cut them off so that they crap themselves. (I'll never brake because that is just looking for trouble) But watching the people's reactions in my rear view mirror whilst disappearing into the distance laughing my ass off at your flashing headlights is quite gratifying. Seeing the person's steering twitch or accidental activation of wipers and indicators is the icing on the cake. It's fantastic!

What you are doing is still road rage and makes you a monumental dick. Even more so that you are so much a **** that you run away.

When you die from your ******** driving, I will be glad to be there to point and laugh at your family while they are at your closed casket funeral.

I'm a very calm and unruffleable driver. Bad behaviour by others simply gets them a Hail Mary or a Glory Be. It was not always so.

The one exception is close tailgaters. After three warnings and brake light taps, I brake quite hard to get the driver's attention. Invariably they pass with a scowl and mouth, and all they get from me is a smile.

I'm not running away. I'm just doing the speed limit... You know... The thing that the driver in the fast lane should have been doing.

Speeding is neither safe nor viable in the Western Cape. The vast majority of drivers have poor situational awareness, which is why you have idiots who sit in the right lane with a queue of cars being forced to undertake.

Poor awareness also means that their driving is erratic and unpredictable, which makes things like lane splitting on a motorbike even more dangerous.

Added to the fact that the police enforcement in Cape Town is better, you quickly realise that the cons of speeding outweigh the pros.

And yet you can’t control your road rage

Good. So you admit it affects your driving, proving the obvious.

One of these days I'm gonna try being drunk and texting at the same time.... while driving my tractor down the road.

I enjoy driving too much to give a crap about getting angry. 2+ car lengths following distance on the highway.

Something I have noticed in SA, an indicator is like a Las Vegas signboard for local drivers to lose their minds. Indicate in any direction and you're immediately raced past, hooted at or tailgated. Oh and lest we forget that 130 is the new 120 on sa roads.

The right lane actually for overtaking, not for driving the speed limit.

I seriously doubt that you are doing the speed limit .....

Yeah. Doesn't sound possible to overtake, and then drive off into the distance all within the speed limit. Speeding is becoming the norm, and not exception.
